- Dugyot - Bottom Line--This book increases actual test scores!I had initially taken the ACT and got a 29 composite. I wanted to increase my score and used many books: Princeton Review, Barrons, even the ACT official test book. But my score did not increase and actually went down to 28. Dr. Gruber's ACT book was recommended and then I went through that one, taking two of the practice tests in the book after learning some of the strategies and some other material in the book. My score was 30 when I took the first practice test in the book and then when I learned some more strategies and other material in the book, and took the second practice test I scored 31. I then learned more of the strategies, skills and other material in the book (but didn't take the third practice test in the book and went right on to taking the actual ACT which I wanted to count). I scored a 35! So, bottom line is --this book works!
